![]() Some of the accommodation options situated just a short drive from downtown Bad Sankt Leonhard im Lavanttal are the Moselebauer and Hotel Bärnthaler Gasthof Restaurant.ġ7 miles (27 kilometers) from the heart of Bad Sankt Leonhard im Lavanttal, you can find the Schloss Gabelhofen. You will discover 2 apartments and hotels within 6 miles (10 kilometers) of the city center. I think the use of the word 'resort' is misleading and when coupled with the price paid makes my rating so low.If you are roaming through East Carinthia and would like to stop by Bad Sankt Leonhard im Lavanttal, as a discerning traveler, you will find it easier to book in advance through Travelocity's hotels page so that you find the most appropriate place to stay. Overall, this place is completely overpriced and there are far better alternatives nearby. We therefore ate out at a nearby gasthof which was good. The bar is only open from 2pm to 5pm then again from 7pm to last orders at 9.30pm. We did use it though and enjoyed until it got a little too cold. We were allowed the use of the outdoor heated pool, but given that it was February and snowing, wasn't 100% ideal. We were asked to vacate the pool to allow for the therapy courses that then took place the whole morning. There are two pools at the hotel, but it's impossible to use the indoor one, as it is reserved for the people who are at the place for recovery. However, there was no eggs, no hot food and the coffee was tepid/cold. There was a decent selection of cold hams and cheeses, together with a good selection of fresh bread and cereals. Wifi is only available in reception and not in the rooms or pool areas. Overnight, the room was a little too warm, and the bed a little to hard to allow for a great nights sleep. The toilet paper was also very cheap quality. However, there was only one cup and one glass, even though we'd booked a double room for two people. The room was very nice, with lots of space and a lovely bathroom, complete with radio music. The reception also had an odd smell, that resembled sulphur or eggs. I couldn't say this for sure, but it did appear that way. What this place is, is a therapeutic retreat for people who are recovering from some sort of illness, and have possibly been prescribed a stay here by their doctors. ![]() It was clear at the check-in that it's not a Spa, nor really a hotel. It took 5 minutes to actually get the attention of one of the two receptionists. Check-in was tedious, taking 25 minutes, even though the had all the details already from. ![]() Given also, we paid 168 euros for a double room including breakfast, we had reasonably high expectations (as that is a reasonably high price for this area). Given the name Gesundheitsresort translates to wellness resort, we expected a nice Spa type of stay. I stayed here for one night in February with my wife and another couple.
